Sweet Southern Garlic Chicken Slow Cooker Recipe (The Saucy Spoonful)
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- ¼ cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
- ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for a little kick)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch or arrowroot (for thickening)
- Optional: chopped green onions or sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, mix sugar, soy sauce, garlic, apple cider vinegar, and paprika.
- Place chicken in the slow cooker and pour sauce over it.
- Cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3 hours.
- Remove chicken and thicken sauce with cornstarch mixed in 2 tablespoons water. Stir back in and cook on HIGH for 15 minutes.
- Shred or slice chicken and drizzle with thickened sauce.
- Serve over jasmine rice or roasted sweet potatoes. Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped scallions.
