Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken with Sweet Potatoes And Apples Recipe | Southern Harvest Flavor

Sweet Potato & Apple BBQ Chicken (Southern Harvest Bowl Style)


Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 small sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 large apple, diced (Honeycrisp or Fuji)
  • ¾ cup clean BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: chopped pecans for topping

Instructions:

  1. Place sweet potatoes and apple in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Lay chicken on top.
  3. Pour BBQ sauce over everything.
  4. Sprinkle with paprika, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and sweet potatoes are soft.
  6. Shred chicken and stir gently to combine, then top with chopped pecans if using.
