Super Simple Sausage and Cheese Biscuit Recipe

Here’s a super simple recipe for Sausage and Cheese Biscuits using the same easy concept! We'll mix  cooked sausage and shredded cheese directly into the dough.

Let's get started:

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups self-rising flour

¼ cup water (adjust if needed)

1 tablespoon oil or butter (melted)

1 cup cooked sausage (ground and crumbled)

½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)

Instructions:

1. Cook the Sausage:
In a skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Break it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess grease if necessary and set the sausage aside to cool slightly.

2. Make the Biscuit Dough:
In a large bowl, combine the self-rising flour, water, and oil (or melted butter). Stir until a dough begins to form. You want the dough to be soft, but not too sticky. If needed, add a little more water, a teaspoon at a time.

3. Mix in the Sausage and Cheese:
Add the cooked sausage and shredded cheese to the dough. Mix gently until the sausage and cheese are evenly incorporated into the dough. Be careful not to overmix.

4. Shape the Biscuits:
On a lightly floured surface, drop spoonfuls of the dough to form your biscuits, or you can gently roll it out and cut them with a biscuit cutter.

5. Cook the Biscuits:

Oven Method: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Pan-Fry Method: Heat a little oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the biscuits for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden and cooked through.

6. Serve and Enjoy!
Once your biscuits are cooked, let them cool slightly before serving. They’re perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a savory snack!

These simple sausage and cheese biscuits are packed with flavor, and they come together in no time. Enjoy them fresh out of the oven or skillet, and savor the cheesy, savory goodness!
